Hi there, you give lack information like which windows you have? this happens when you watch movie ?
By this situation, I know most of problems come with Windows Registry - here what you can to do I recommend try few the 5 registry cleaners, and find what one registry cleaner works best for you and computer.
If you still have this problems, I recommend that youread few articles how to prevent that problems in future.
Even I have the same configuration and facing the same issue. I do not think its anything to do with temparature. The problem happens only on windows vista and not on the ubuntu which I have on another partition. Ubuntu works fine with videos hours long. It has to be some s/w (may be drivers) on windows which is causing this. I have installed the latest directx drivers from microsoft and looks like the problem has been resolved temporarily. Though its too early to confirm this as I installed this today (Feb 28 2010)
You can stick 4 gigs of memory in here. If you are experiencing system failures, slow pc, or unexpected errors, then I recommend downloading and running a free registry cleaner such as glary utilites or Eusing registry cleaners. You only need about 512-1 gig of memory to run everything on a pc. Make sure you have the latest drivers downloaded, Turn hibernation off!!!!!! And check the power scheme settings to make sure it isn't shutting itself off or on a timer
First thing I would do is download and run a free registry cleaner called Glary Utilities. It is a very nice program I think you will find very helpful. It will speed up and optimize your pc. Next thing is try and close any un-needed running programs so more memory can go to the movie player. You pc can hold up to 4 or 8 gigs.
