Sitecom WL-330 with Novatel 2352 mobile hotspot. Hotspot "open" and works well. WL330 survey finds hotspot and all set up fine, but then cannot access internet via WL330
Computers & Internet - D-Link - DIR-615 Wireless Router
Sounds like your sitecom is not making a complete connection with your novatel. Does the novatel you know if you have DHCP enabled or does it us a static IP? Do you know what security settings the novatel using? I have a network that requires the set up of a static IP for laptops to be able to access the internet. When connecting to a "hotspot" there are many questions to answer and only the proper configuration will get you completely connected.
Please let me know what you can so we can get you connected
I believe that there is an incompatibility between the sitecom extender and the novatel hot spot. According to the manual, you can set up the sitecom to be a wirless router or an extender. If you have both the novatel and sitecom set up as wireless routers, they will not connect. So, I hope that Sitecom's help desk understood completely what you were trying to accomplish. The other thing that is in play here is that sitecom has the ability to use security settings and IP settings. I have 2 routers in my network, a wireless router and my main wired router. I end up having to set up static IP address to get all my devices to connect to the internet. This may be an option to try. It may be that the two antennas are not cooperating and you may have to 'force' the issue by setting up IP's that will work in concert instead of conflict. You can then try to see if you can connect to the novatel thru the sitecom by doing a trace route in a cmd window.
Let me know if you want to try this IP configuration and if you are comfortable with accessing the configuration utilities of both devices.
The other simple thing is that wireless routers often need to be restarted by removing the power for about 10 seconds and plugging them back in. I have seen that simple move solve connection problems.

How is you mac set up for IP configuration? I believe that the problem is either IP conflict with the two antennas or a security set up issue. Unless you have a defective piece of hardware. This is not the first thought when dealing with connection issues however..
I wish to clearly understand where we are at, so please indulge me for a moment. Is this the configuration you are using to connect to the novatel shown below?
2-4-4 AP Bridge-Point to Point Mode In this mode, this wireless access point will connect to another wireless access point which uses the same mode, and all wired Ethernet clients of both wireless access points will be connected together. You can use this mode to connect a network to another network which is physically isolated. Please note that when you set your access point to this mode, it will not accept regular wireless clients anymore. When you select ‘AP Bridge-Point to Point’, the following options will be displayed: Band Please select the wireless band you wish to use. By selecting different band setting, you’ll be able to allow or deny the wireless client of a certain band. If you select 2.4GHz (B), 2.4GHz (N), or 2.4GHz (G), only wireless clients using the wireless band you select (802.11b, 802.11 Draft-N, or 802.11g) will be able to connect to this access point. If you select 2.4GHz (B+G), then only wireless clients using 802.11b and 802.11g band will be able to connect to this access point. If you want to allow 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11 Draft-N clients to connect to this access point, select 2.4GHz (B+G+N). Channel Number Please select a channel number you wish to use. The channel number must be same with another wireless access point you wish to connect MAC address 1 Please input the MAC address of the wireless access point you wish to connect Set Security Click this button to select an encryption mode for this wireless link, a new popup window will appear. Please refer to Section 2-7 for detailed descriptions. After you finish with setting, please click ‘Apply’. Hereafter, the settings you made are successfully saved. You can click the ‘Continue’ button to go back to the previous page and continue changing other settings, or click the ‘Apply’ button to restart the wireless access point. The changes will take effect after about 30 seconds.
Let me know.

PS. (As a point of interest, I would never suggest anyone have an unsecure hot spot. This allows for easy access to your network and personal information on your connected computers. This is, of course, completely up to you.)

You may try to use different channels on the router to get a better signal. Follow the steps below how to change channels on your router:
1. Connect your computer to the router via an Ethernet cable and open your web browser (normally Internet Explorer, which can be found on your desktop or on the Start Menu in Windows XP). 2. Once your browser opens, input http://192.168.1.1 into the "Address bar". 3. You'll be prompted for a User Name and Password. Leave the User Name blank and type in admin as the password.
Cisco Interface (if the setup page has a Cisco Logo) Go to Wireless Tab SSID: (e.g. Vic or your name or last name) Channel: Any from 1-11 Then hit Save Settings.
Regular Linksys Interface (if the setup page has no Cisco Logo) Under Setup: SSID: (e.g. Vic or your name or last name) Channel: Any from 1-11 Then hit Apply
After doing this you should have a better Wireless signal from your router....
1. Locate an optimum location for the Broadband Router. The best place for the Broadband Router is usually at the center of your wireless network, with line of sight to all of your mobile stations.
2. Fix the direction of the antenna. Try to place it in a position that will best cover your wireless network. Normally, the higher you place the antenna, the better the performance will be. The antenna's position enhances the receiving sensitivity.
Good luck and rate this solution.

You might need to re-configure the whole router settings.
