SLOW BOOT UP??????????????
I have a computer my boot takes 23 boots then the actuall log in screen comes and i amd thinking its because of my hardrive so i need too know how to check my hardrive properties if anyone knows ill give 4 rates plz reply quickly
i dont know any details of my hardrive because i dont know how to check
but i have windows xp service pack 2 installed if anyone wants to answer my question plz doo so

The best you can do is to boot from a bootable CD with some antivirus and recovery tools. Sometimes these CDs are linux-based, and a packed with major computer magazines. Some are even downloadable, such as http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
If possible, download and burn it on another PC.
Another solution is to make such a bootable CD with bartpe utilities, and your own Windows XP CD-rom.
Google on "bartpe" for instructions, and a downloadlink for the utilities (or use the link I have given you). This really has to be done on another computer. Using your own XP CD-ROM, and the downloaded partpe utilitities, a new bootable windows environment is made, with a lot of disk check/repair functions.
Good luck. You may have to change the boot order in your BIOS, so that it first checks the CD-ROM for bootable discs.

choose the repaire console by pressing (r)
when you reach the command prombt you can check your hard drive by writing the command
c:\windows\chkdsk/p wait until finish checking your hard
then write exit and try to start windows
