If upgrading RAM is what you're thinking of - I'd suggest you don't. Only go to hardware consultants if absolutely necessary. Nowadays, if let's say you have 512 MB of RAM, it's still sufficient. If you need more because of high demand graphics software, then I would suggest you buy a machine with a greater RAM (pre-existing). There are other reasons a computer is slow. You could have malwares and spywares (run an antivirus scan). If it's clean and your machine is below 512 MB RAM, then I'd suggest to buy new machine.
