Slow throttle reponse to load
I am trying to operate a suitable welder using this generator. However, the throttle response is too slow when I strike an arc and begin welding. This causes my arc to drop off just when the generator is about to reach full-throttle. So once the arc load is gone, the engine throttle slows down again, and the cycle repeats. If I have someone hold the throttle open manually, the problem doesn't exist, until the welding process is interrupted. Then the throttle issue repeats..

Put something else on the generator (like a light bulb) so that it senses a load, otherwise you wont be able to deal with the load sensing and the lag.
Your welder is too much for the generator you are using. Usually you need a fairly big generator for welding so it doesn't overload so easily.
