Smith Corona XD 6500
My typewriter won't turn on. It's been sitting dormant for many years, but I did get it working earlier today.
The power cord hasn't gone bad (I've tested it with a voltimeter), the switch is set to on, paper is loaded, it's set to "Type", KB is on and set to KB I.
Help?

You might check the outlet to make sure there is 120V. Otherwise there is a good chance the power supply has burned out. Also the cover has to be down, and there has to be a ribbon mounted properly for this machine to work.
