Sound was working... now it's not. No sound alert for log in, new message, new email, nudge, wink... nothing. Why ??? I have sound for everything else, itunes... youtube etc so its not my sound... 2 things i don't have sound for anymore is windows live messenger and scrabble on facebook... even though i have the bubble pop noise for new message on fb... strange. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Sometimes when you have updated your windows operating system, most other drivers get left behind from getting their updates too.
You must go to the manufature's website and get a new sound driver for your desktop / laptop.
This will solve your problem automaticaly and in the future when you update anything in your computer, you must update all the other hardware and softwrae too and not just windows alone.
