Spl-txc22a won't start, it is only a month old.The switch is on and have moved it to another plug in. Cleaned out the hopper and wiped off the sensor but nothing. No lights or power. I have unplugged it for the 80 minutes and am waiting. Thanks Ted
Had the same problem. Here is what I found worked: 1. Shut off the power switch in the back. 2. Hold your finger down on the FWD button and at the same time, turn the Power button (in the back) on again. Keep your finger pressing the FWD button until the machine starts running. 3. Once the machine starts running it will stay running constantly for you to shred. It won't stop until you switch off the power button in the back. But at least the machine will run for big jobs. You'll have to keep an eye on the bin because apparently all sensors get switched off in this mode. However, it's better than junking a shredder that will otherwise work. Good luck! Oh, and you have to do this every time to use the machine; the rests don't save. But again, I found this to be fine.
Thanks! That works, and for the limited time I will be shredding, the unit won't overheat. Great answer! Thanks! That works, and for the limited time I will be shredding, the unit won't overheat. Great answer!
I had the same problem with mine so I took the unit apart and checked the fuse and it was not blown, the motor turned fine, there were no jams. I found that after you turn on the power switch in the back, press REALLY hard on the main power switch on top and it turned right on. I know! how stupid did I feel! Hope this is a solution for your problem too :-)

I have a Staples Shredder SPL-TCX22A every time I put a piece of paper in the machine the Anti Jam light comes on and the machine will not work.
