Starter problems I've got an '03 Monster 620. A couple weeks ago I went to start the bike up. Turned the key, fuel pump primed, gauges flip on, but when I hit the starter button, nothing happens. I checked and charged the battery, tried replacing the ignition relay underneath the gas tank - still no ignition. Then I replaced the starter relay on the right side of the bike - again, no ignition. As I was swapping out the starter relay, I did, however, notice that the ignition fired up when the two leads on the relay were crossed - kill switch and key were both turned to the ON position. I discovered this by accident, and my guess at the time was that by short circuiting the starter relay, I was bypassing the ignition switch. The bike sounded fine, so I decided I'd attempt to at least get it to the shop and avoid the towing charges. A couple miles into the ride, the bike overheated (260 degrees) and died at a stop light. Now if I try to start using the method I stumbled upon by accident (i.e. place a wrench across the two terminals of the starter relay), the ignition will turn over, but won't start. I have no clue where to go from here, and I'm not sure if the overheating was related to the starter problem. It's going into the shop this weekend. At this point, I'm just wondered if I did something really stupid and made the problem worse. Insight would be appreciated if anyone has had a similar experience. Thanks
