Thanks 4 the help but i done wat u said but still nat type 3.i know all about that port forwrd ting,its just setting up the static ip address.wat ip adress do i put in?i think my ps3 ip address is 192.168.1.5 is this the prob??do i enter the info frm da black box??r frm my router page?? the moddle is 2247-02. i need big help with static nat.thanks 4 the help but can i bother u 4 more plz plz plzzz

You need to enter the static ip address of your ps3 to the router's page where you forwarded the port numbers. click here for the illustration
try to open these ports as well for gta4
UDP ports: 6672, 28900
TCP ports: 8000-8001, 27900, 28900
if you're still getting the same problem, set your router to dmz
