There is no easy way to stop the beeping when you press start/stop on the timer. What I did was open up the unit. There are 4 small Phillips screws that hold the unit together. Unscrew them all. When opening the unit, be very careful of the buttons and the springs that may fly off. Then, on the back side of the timer is this silver metal disc (the speaker) with two white wires connected to it. Sever one of the wires. That should stop any and all beeping from the timer. Reassemble the unit.
Note: This will also disable all noise from the hourly chime and the alarm. No beeping noise will ever emit from this unit again. If you need beep back, re-solder the severed wire back to the speaker.
The one I have, has two springs that contact the speaker (not soldered). So I just slid a piece of paper on the back of the speaker so the springs wouldn't contact it and put it back together. Worked great. Thanks for the hint on where and what the speaker looked like. Helped a lot.The one I have, has two springs that contact the speaker (not soldered). Same here...and there were 6 screws to open the back. No wires, but two springs sticking up. Put a piece of paper between the springs and the speaker disc and no more beeping! Thank you so much!!!Same here...and there were 6 screws to open the back. No wires, but two springs sticking up. Put a piece of paper between the springs and the speaker disc and no more beeping!
