The 1st answer is NOT accurate. Virtually ALL small kitchen appliances have a tiny THERMAL FUZE, that "dies" if the machine gets over--heated for any reason. THAT save the valuable and expensive parts (like the MOTOR) from being damaged. The thermal fuse is very small, cheap and quickly and easily replaced. You could do it yourself with minimal knowledge and tools.

No fuse to replace, if the power cord failed you can contact cuisineart for assistance in getting a replacement unit if under warranty
