Sunbeam 5895 ExpressBake Bread Maker motor only turns one direction--screeches and does not turn when the program tells it to reverse direction 20 minutes into the knead cycle. Belt is fine; motor spindle can be turned "wrong" way, but it is difficult. Perhaps failed brush? Is it worth trying to fix?
It would only be worth trying to fix if you did it yourself. Once you get into paying someone else to repair it and possibly paying for repair parts they are never ever cheap. So with labor and parts it makes more sense just to replace. You can find almost new and nearly new used on ebay for very reasonable prices. Toastmaster machines are quiet and reliable. Breadman is a well known name and still in business.
