supply (my multimeter couldn't read anything from the board in standby), and I questioned if the cable for the TV was bad. I tested this by plugging it in to a similar TV that uses the same AC adapter, and it wouldn't turn on either. Like the original TV, though, the little standby light turns on and off. When I exchanged the adapters to see if the newer cord would work, however, I got no response. I have already replaced the power supply board and the main board as well, but am still getting no reading. Am I overlooking something blatantly obvious here?

2-buy the service manual and read the tests there and rules for swapping parts not allowed, willynilly.
3-last guess and go broke.

no symptoms, my guess TV is dead, no sound and not smart screens, at all, dead, and LED glowing for standby GLOWing.

first off there is no need to have a TV box at all, zero need.
the TV has smart screen and do stream video off say neflix,
NO TV boxes needed at all just internet.
nor do you need anything at all to use the SMART screen.
it will show all streaming choices at any time, just AC line cord attached and nothing else.

1: all Power supplies fail to turn on (even new) IF ANY PART OR MODULE IN THE TV IS SHORTED, (CALLED CURRENT OVERLOADS) THIS ENDS THAT FUNNY FIRE SMOKE THING.
that is JOB 1. not run any TV.

some TV need hard reset, ever do that, power cord pulled for 1hr.
the hold power button at same time and plug in power cord?
rear power button E32? see that>? works when remote is dead.
but really all this is in the service manual these steps and rules.

Some are known for dead LED back lamp,power packs or even the LED lamp string dead. known.!!! cheap made parts fail here.
so if screen is dead, and a hard reset fails use the service manual
click page called trouble shooting and click dead screen.
and proceed from there, per the manual first.
the cure is LG, buy LG and win, no kidding.
As you can see TV turns on just like a PC.
the 5vStandy dead,means the logic board can not respond the power on button the power on button is A digital command.
so if standby is dead or noisy,(cap) TV will never ever turn on.
This unlike any TV from 1980 and simple, not it is a computer inside and a OS running to make the smart screen work.(desktop like)
