Surround on my system
Purchased this unit and installed. all worked fine. Now only get sound from speakers when watching tv and not from DVD. Changed nothing on this since first setup.

Have you tried what I said and changed the settings in the DVD?
Also, is it a built in DVD player / TV combo, or a separate unit? You can try doing a hard reset..Unplug the TV from the mains, disconnect all cables from tv and wait for 1 hour. Then press the power button on TV and plug in the mains. Same if your DVD player is stand alone.

Ensure the digital compression option is ON on your DVD. Also, when you select the av input on the remote,hit the menu button,it
should give you a few options,select the av input you have your
connections in (eg DVD) and select analog if its analog.coax if coax.etc. try fiddling with the different settings there and hopefully one should work.
