A copule of things cause that. Here are the main 2. On the left frams looking from the front, with the covers off, there is a 1 inch square stainless steel print head block that is located about 2/3s of the way back , near the bottom of the frame. Look at that and see if there is ink built up in that block , also under and around the block. If so remove the spring holder thats over the block and take channel lock pliers and remove that block. It may be very stiff. To clean soak it in hot water to soften the ink and clean that block, the shaft and all the remaining ink under the block you can remove. Once you return the machine to working order, take a level and out in on the glass. Make sure it is LEVEL front to back and side to side. Number 2 is the print heasd wiper is stuck to the print head. That requires removing the scanner/document feed assembly, the side covers, the upper rear cover and the ink loader assembly,( where you put the ink sticks). Once you remove that you have access to the print hear drum area. If needed carefully pry the wiper from the print head and return to service. That blade will stick if the machine is not properly shut down. I strongly suspect the machine is not level and when you ran the cleaning mode, it sucks all the ink out of the print head. Most likley while that ink was dropping into the tray, it ran out the back of the tray.
