I'm actually writing to post that I could NOT find a take-apart after hours of 'googling' and decided to 'have a go' and did in-fact take it completely apart, remove the broken part, re-assemble and the lens takes perfect pictures. Tamron said they will sell me the one part that is broken so i will be 'going back in' to replace it. I can share details of how to get 'under the hood' without preknowledge you'll damage the rotation sensors for the zoom and focus. -awr"
