Tea spilt ok Thinkpad Keyboard
Hi all,
Today a cup of tea (sugar added) spilt on my thinkpad keyboard while it was on. It suddenly turned off and i drained it by making it upside down. The mistake i did is i turned it on and battry light turned on for 2 sec and again it turned off. After dat i dried it under fan as well as in sunlight. it has been almost 6 hrs but still its not turning on. i spoke ti customer support, they told to change the keyboard.
Can anyone please suggest any alternative...
please help me.........

I'm sorry, but there are no alternatives, and you may have bigger issues than just the keyboard. If the tea seeped past the keyboard, and onto the motherboard, which is directly bellow the keyboard, then by trying to start it you may have fried the motherboard. You would be surprised how long it takes for a laptop to dry out, 6 hours is not near long enough. You will also want to clean it, the sugar in the tea can cause corrosion of the circuitry on the motherboard. I'm going to recommend that you take it in for a professional diagnostic and cleaning. This way you will know the exact extent of the damage.
