Tec 572 printer gives "no ribbon" error with ribbon installed
My tec 572 label printer goes online - then when I try to print I immediately get a "no ribbon" error - with the ribbon installed and correctly fed through the ribbon sensor

You have to set the ribbon type to be "non-transmissive" for black transfer film.
To set the ribbon type, turn the printer off. Then press and hold the "feed" and "pause" buttons while turning on the power. The printer will now be in diagnostic mode - you can page through the menus until it says "ribbon type"
Pick the correct type and press the "pause" key to save the value. Then turn off the printer and turn it on again normally. The ribbon error goes away.
