Tecumseh HM80 on coleman generator. won"t stabilize, backfires. new plug, fresh gas 'carb cleaned. starts first time'new air filter. any suggestions?

Tecumseh carbs a MAJORITY of the time can not be cleaned, they MUST be replaced 9 times out out ten. Backfiring is due to too much fuel, not enough air mixture. If you have removed the carb and used carb cleaner with the carb and still no luck, then buy a NEW carb. Tecumseh are bad for this , I do hope this helps!!
Tighten the flywheel nut to at least 100 ft. lbs.
I dont know if this is a solution..but i had the same issue with my generator from the time it was new. I just put in a new carb kit and the issue went away... it looked like the main jet on the bottom of the bowl was a little different

Check to see if it has a smeared or worn key way it is what times the fly wheel to the engine if not it is possible that it coul have problem with a valve or engine timming
