Do you mean that the closed captions are on? Disabling this depends on the video source. If the source is TV (OTA or cable with a coaxial cable), then you need to access the Settings icon after pressing the Home button on the remote. Then go to the Accessibility section. Locate the Closed Caption sub-menu and disable the captions. (Click the appropriate button on the remote to enter menus and change settings.)
If the source is not connected to the RF input, then you probably need to disable the captions at the source. This will depend on the source. For some satellite boxes with a main set-top box that serves a secondary TV, you'll need to disable the captions at the main set-top box. For an ADB IPTV box, press Menu on the remote.
