I should have described it better: I have a solid red light and it is not dead. It will heat water, the grinder will not turn on though...I assume it locked up when the earing was in there and now I have to figure out how to unlock the grinder, any more ideas?

Hi,
It could be the grinder or power board that is the problem, if it was my machine i should replace the grinder.
Try to set power to the grinder, look at the grinder to make sure what volt it should have before you by a new. If the grinder start when you power it then i think your power board must be replaced.
