Thanks mastersaint, follow-up
The first trick of rebooting and turn on did not work. The problem is not localized because I tried this on three different computers so far. All unrecognized.
Now, the real trick may lie in your link: http://www.hat.net/geeky/node/221
Following the steps....
I proceeded to "Remove Hidden Devices" via DOS, then proceeded to device manager, now I ONLY uninstalled the "Unknown devices" under the USB branch. as shown in the photo below. I thought the instructions only meant those.,
Am I required to delete all those greyed our ones included the "Generic USB Device"? Is tis safe? This was not 100% clear in the instructions of that page

Hi Letian,
If you have tried this on all 3 computers then i would definitely suggest you return the unit. The USB unrecognized works only for a computer that it was working before but the unit must be working on another computer. The solution at my link is for Ghost devices that cause the specific problem. If you tried the device on another computer and you have never plugged the device on that computer then the unit is either defective or nearing that. While it is still under warranty I suggest return it as it will certainly give you problems in the future.

As for the device if it is under warranty I do not suggest you do anything further to try to fix it as it is under warranty. if it is not under warranty kindly message me.
