The battery dies about every 6 weeks. Will take a charge but fails to last beyond 4-6 weeks of starting without needing a recharge. Battery has been replaced numerous times and does not fix the problem. 2007 Ford Freestyle. Any ideas?

Go to autozone and ask one of the counter persons to check your charging system, it's free. Normal alternator output should be between 13.6 to 14.8 volts with the engine running and everything turned off. If the charge meter reads below 13.6 volts, it may be the alternator, or the internal voltage regulator, in fact, dirty or corroded battery terminal ends will preclude the proper charging of the battery. Make sure both ends of both battery cables are clean and tight, before the trip to autozone.
Have the alternator tested. Both Autozone and Advance auto will do it for free. It's probably the diode.
