Most likely, someone has unscrewed the thumbscrews in the right side "collar". Best thing you can do is loosen both thumbscrews on the both collars, push the film on the shaft as far left as you can. then tighten both screws back down as tight as you can by hand. then grab the film and push the entire assembly to the right as it's spring loaded to the right. once it clears the keyed shaft holder on the left, just lift up and out. the right side collar screw should never be loosed. it just causes problems.
