The amount of vacuum may be greater or smaller at various times due to atmospheric conditions and ambient temperature. The tubes must have the vacuum at the top so that they do not shatter when heated. Although some of the vacuum is hidden by the chrome pieces on the jukebox it is considered normal to have a small amount of vacuum or air space showing.
