The built-in speakers have stopped working. The cord is plugged in correctly. Volume levels are set correctly. My headphones work okay through the computer, but absolutely no sound (or static, etc.) via the monitor's built-in speakers

Hello. Check to be sure that the speakers did not get turned off. To do this turn on the monitor and use the remote to get to the menu and then to the audio area. Once there you will see the choice for having those speakers on or off. Joe

Hi! Please do check the monitor's built in speaker wire. The connection was surely detached and you will need a soldering gun to fix this.
