Manny your problem is the shift lever solenoid, you didnt say what type car you have so i cant tell you where to look for it, if you can find the location of this part one option is to just unplug it and leave it unplugged, if you choose to do this beware that the car will now go into gear without your foot having to be applied to the brake, the purpose of this part is just a safety device to keep you from putting the car in gear without your foot on the brake, unplugging it will have no adverse effect on the performance of your car

is this the same as a neutral safety switch
It was the brake light switch at the brake pedal
