The Clutch disc and Release Bearing for the TD4-Freelander, were replaced recently. The Pressure Plate was still in a good condition.Gears difficult to engage. Please advise.Tks.John
I own a Freelander -- Diesel TD4. Before changing the Clutch Disc, the Engagement of the Gears were normal despite the worn out Disc, however the Vehicle momentum was noticeably less, due to reduced friction between the Clutch Disc and Pressure Plate. The Clutch disc and Release Bearing for the TD4 - Freelander, was replaced recently. The Pressure Plate was still in a good condition. Clutch pedal seems to be working Ok, however Gears are difficult to engage. OK at normal temperature, but gets more difficult when the Clutch components heat up over the day. Can the bleeding of the Slave Clutch Unit improve the situation ? On depressing the clutch pedal, there is a profound hissing sound.Clutch Oil Level is normal. Please advise. Thanks. John. I am a Marine engineer by profession, and have a fair knowledge of machinery --- but I`ll leave it to the Experts to educate me in this regard. Thanks. John.
