You do need to buy good coaxial cables at a reputable electronics store. You may sometimes use the slide in one with some luck. I prefer a high quality cable purchase at the cable or satellite tv office. The other thing is you may have too many connections going into the tv. You may a dvd or vcr player that is still on. Or the video game box is on etc. Or worse yet...the RF connector on the tv itself is loose and will require a new soldered one in its place...this will require a tv tech! Or the quik fix is to bypass the RF connector and use the RCA cables and Jacks. Hate to leave you with so many options...but most is covered now...good luck!
