The heater is causing interference with my Satellite TV signal reception. When I turn on the heater my signal begins ti digitize then it goes out. what can I do to prevent this I have the baseboard heater in other rooms in the house and this is the only place where this interence occurs
Heating & Cooling - Lasko - 5620 Electric Baseboard Heater
Sounds like the heater might have a bad heating element or the transformer inside the unit is shorting out. first thing that I would check is to remove the wire plate and check for any burned out wires. ( this unit could be a serious fire hazard ) --- you could always have a electrician come out and check the unit for voltage problems or for about the same price you could go down to your local Hardware/appliance store and just buy a new unit and replace it,, they install very easy and it only takes about 30 minutes to remove and replace the unit --- try and get a unit with the same messurments so you will not have to paint the wall area around the new unit.
now one more quick test to trouble shoot the unit --- try and run power to your satellite system via a extention cord and a different outlet from inside the house. there is a chance that the sat system and the baseboard heater are sharing the same power source and when the heater kicks on ( with its problem ) it is causing a issue with the sat system. again,,, check out and solve this problem soon as it could lead to a electrical fire.
