The ice maker quit a few months ago (water still works) but I hear dripping into the drip pan
Tonight it was dripping fairly steady and heard a sizzle noise when it dripped most likely on hot coils Any ideas?

Sounds to me that ice tray fill tube is broken in the back as it runs up from the bottom to the tray , could that be the source of the sound of running water u hear ??? ill bet its intermittent , say 30 sec every two hours ??? and it stops making sound if u turn off ice maker ??
I've actually kept the ice maker off for months now. It's definitely random when it happens. Tonight it was a steady stream. I can see it happen when I take the toe plate off and watch it drip directly into the center of the drip pan. Weird hearing that sizzle tonight. I can see it dripping through the inside of the freezer at the bottom, so I'm assuming the coils get hot and are melting some ice
