The image is compressed into a thin vertical line about 2-3 inches thick. The very top of this line is more brighter than the rest. I've read the problem could be the vertical output IC. I've downloaded the guide from www.eserviceinfo.com. Where is the vertical output IC located? Does it have a special number? Must it be soldered or replaced? Thank you (Hitachi 32UX59B 32" TV)
Sounds like the vertical IC has gone out. Possible with some capacitors. Usually, when you take the back off, Its located on the right side towards the front. It usually has about 10 legs. I can't remember off the top of my head.
