THE LATCH TO PULL FOR MY HOOD TO OPEN IS BROKE AND THE HOOD IS HELD TOGETHER BY A HANGER i HAVE TO GET UNDERNEATH TO OPEN THE HOOD ..PLUS THE CAR IS MISSING A DOOR KEY AND THE TRUNK IS TIED DOWN ALSO iF I GET A DOOR KEY WILL i B ABLE TO USE THE KEY TO OPEN THE TRUNK CUZ THAT LATCH BUTTON DONT WORK?
Hi again, If you take a close look the latch ( which is broken on your car) is attached to a cable, that cable is attached to the hood lock mechanism, every time you pull the latch the cable is being pulled and the hood lock opens, so the solution is to install and new latch but till then you can try opening the hood by pulling that cable ( you don't have to unlock it from under the car). Now the problem with the trunk, as far as I understood from your question the latch for the trunk is not working also, and the solution as you said, yes you can open the truck with the door key. Have a look and let me know if you need more advice. Waiting for your comment. Best
Hi, sorry to answer late, just woke up. you said the trunk locks is pretty missed up (opened by a screw driver). can you please give me the exact model and year of your car so I can have a closer look at it? and also tell you what Haynes manual ( can be found both online and on Auto Zone shops, but cheaper to buy from a shop, online cost you extra for shipment) you can get for your car. You paid us here and I feel obligated to help you fix your problem. Oh before I forget, what about the hood, did you find the cable I was talking about? it should be under the dash on driver's side, usually there is a plastic latch or lever you pull to pop up the hood, if that's broken you still should be able to find the cable which pulled opens the hood. Feel free to write back.
