Hi If you are talking about the descale light, you must let the machine quit on its own. The pump has to stop on its own. Any interruption (you stopping the machine) will keep it in the descale mode. Once it stops on its own, the lights will change. Then do the rinse by replacing the water in the tank and closing and then reopening the steam knob and again letting the machine quit on its own. Again the lights will change. Then repeat the last cycle (putting water in the tank and closing and then reopening the steam knob)until all the red lights go away and you only have a green blinking light. Now your finished descaling a compact without a digital display.
