The machine will turn on but it turns off if you try to make espresso or extract water. It trips the breaker and once you reset the breaker the machine turns back on
Coffee Makers & Espresso... - Nuova Simonelli - Mac 2000 Espresso Machine
There's is alot going on here, But the first thing I would check is the water level in the boiler, then the pump, if it trips the breaker when you try to brew a coffee, then the pump could be seized and the motor not able to turn it. Disconnect the pump from the motor and try the machine, if it turns replace the pump, if not then the motor is also damage. Next I would check the wires on the elements and incoming to the back of the machine make sure there is no damaged to cause grounding. Also remove the level probe and clean it because it might be covered with scale. You might have to replace the reset thermostat also. Check the element make sure it did not get damaged from lack of water. Water in the sight glass does not mean water in the boiler.
