The machine works with the hose but not with the base suction. Have cleaned all filters and baseplate etc so no blockages. Machine not picking up when used without the hose

From what you've described, it sounds as if you may have a blockage inside your machine's internal hose or changeover valve. This is housed within the ball assembly, so it may not be immediately noticeable. Please follow the steps shown in the images below:
