The mechanical timer manufactured by Junghans-Italy fitted on a Dualit 4slices toaster bought in the UK in 1985 is giving up ! after all these years. What can I replace it with? Every other part is in perfect order

I dont know if you also understand greek so I will ansewr in english. I am Greek from Cyprus. You can buy the timer from ebay. The price is like you buy directly from dualit. Is the original one and you can use the this link which guide you for reaching the heating element that will help you reach for timer too. Regards
