The MotoQ powers on briefly and then shuts down
When I power on the Q, the funky Hello Moto screen comes on, the Windows Mobile screen flashes, and the unit powers off. Tried the hard reset with same results. Is it now a paperweight?

I can help you with your MotoQ.
Your system software / firmware has become corrupted. You need to download and install replacement firmware for your phone. You need to choose the correct firmware for your exact model and service provider / carrier for it to work.
I wrote fixya tip on how to do this a few months ago, the links are below. But don't use the verizon firmware unless verizon is your carrier - get your carriers firmware from Motorola's MotoQ website.
Or, just take it into your service providers store and get them to do it.
