The motor doesn't start; just hums
That's it - just a low, almost inaudible hum. Tried rocking the drum in case something has jammed - no luck. The machine's quite old, we inherited it when we took over the pub and it does a lot of work. I'm guessing the motor's gone, right?

I would have to agree that the motor is the problem, but before you replace it, check the bearing and blower fan to make sure they are in good shape. If the bearing is bad or the fan is blocked it could give you the same indication.
