The motor is not working all the time. Sometimes takes an hour or so before it kicks in. I unplug the unit and plug back in along with re-set button but does not seem to matter

That is an older unit I am guessing and I would suspect that it is the heat sensor that is shutting it off as it is probably shot. Can you tell me the model and approx. year it was made/purchased. thanks
