It would be a great help to know more about your car - model (mk1 mk2, mk3,etc.), year, engine size/type...
Mostly an engine oil leak is difficult to find without a washdown, running for a short time and then a close inspection with a strong light and the use of a mirror or whatever it takes - even better if a fluorescent dye is added to the oil and the examination is carried out with a uv light.
It is also very important to ensure the crankcase breather is clear and working correctly.
Cavaliers haven't been any more prone to oil leaks than anything else though the early mk2s suffered from leaky fuel pumps and a cylinder head gasket oilway leak wasn't unusual on all models, though very messy the actual amount of leakage was relatively small.
