The oven will not light unless you put it on broil first

After the oven is on broil for a while, you can turn it to the temperature
you want and it will kick in. Do we need a new sensor?

Hi,
Before changing the sensor I would change the ignitor... these things can go bad and cause them to do funny things like that...
