Use a drawer pull. Put the knob on top and thread the screw in from the bottom. You'll need rubber washers to place against the glass. The small hole to the side is meant as a vent, you'll lose marginally more heat without the plastic over it, but not enough to interfere with the cooker.

I only want the black knob that lifts the lids off -
it cracked on its own accord - posibly the heat as I use it a lot -
