The platter on my Technics SL 1200MK2 stopped spinning. The power works fine... the platter doesn't want to turn. It feels like it just wants to be stuck?! Never had this problem with any of Technics 1200's... any help is much appreciated!
If you remove the rubber pad from the top of the platter then you should be able to lift the platter off the servo drives' center shaft, from memory the unit is not attached just held on by gravity,if the servo magnet is gone the take it in for a service and pay the man for his time,
My first problem on my 1200s was a pitch control issue and easy to fix, with a little cash, never use second hand parts unless you know what you are doing because when they fail on you while playing to a packed dance floor then youll get more of a supprise than you barginned for,
