The power supply squeels when i plug it in. there
The power supply on my DFR-1600 squeels when i plug it in. there is enough power to illuminate the front display but when I try to make it come on the front display gets dim. I believe that the power transistor is what is making the noise. Can I replace this transistor and fix the power supply? If so, would this be something Radio Shack would carry?

Hello,
the reason the player squeels, is because it has been exposed to a very high current.
- you need to open up the cover of the player,
- test the transistors with a meter reader,
- when you detect the fault, make proper replacement.
it depends on the kind of problem you are presenting. that is what radio shack will work on.
