If your fan uses a flat pack receiver found up at the ceiling you should shut off the circuit breaker. Remove the receiver and tie the blue and black leads coming out of the fan together and wire nut them directly to the hot in the ceiling. Then hook up the white coming out of the fan to the white in the ceiling. Turn the breaker back on and the fan should spin on high and the light should be on bright. If it does there is a problem with your receiver or transmitter. If the light still doesn't come on you have either a dead bulb or a bad light limiter in the fan.
