Hi, if it trips the reset, you have a short in some part of the unit. Could be the motor, or several things that would cause this. It can be repaired if you take it in to a appliance repair shop. You know as well as I do it may be a minor problem or major, and its the labor that will get your $$$. Get a estimate and compare to a new unit. I hope I have been of some help to you. Sincerely, Shastalaker7
I'm having a similar problem. The other night there was a storm and we lost power for just a couple minutes. When it came back on the window air conditioning unit atarted turning on & off. I mean it will literally run for 2 to 3 seconds then turn off. It keeps doing it on and off on and off. I have tried unplugging it for a while, flipping the breaker, everything.... Please someone help me...Oh by the way the A/C is a GE.
