The rubber round my washing machine door is black and smells
I have only had my washer since June 2007, and the condition of the rubber round the bottom of the inside of the washer is disgusting, smelling of fust and mould, it is affecting the articles I am placing inside to wash, if they are not removed immediately after the wash cycle, the fusty smell left on them is awful, never have I experienced this with any of my previous washers, can you please help with any solution to this as it is really embarrasing if I have any company standing nearby when I use the washer as it is smelling constantly now the washing machine is a CDA model C1394, I would really appreciate any solution to this awful problem, which I don't feel can get any worse, the condition of the rubber round the washer may I add is black. Common problem with that style machine. Try running a cup of vinegar thru te wash cycle. The acid from the vinegar will break it down. It may take more than one cycle if its really bad. Once the smell is gone leave the door slightly ajar to prevent it from happenig again.
