The screen on the Explorer is frozen. It says Leap Frog with the copyright info on the bottom. I don't seem to be able to activate it to play the game. Can you help please?
Toys - LeapFrog - Leapster Explorer Learning Experience
Hi. Ok, I do not have this toy my self, but I know several others have this exact issue, and some of them have soved this by removing the battery-pack. Also, on a general basis the easiest way to start correcting errors on electric devices is to compleately removing the battery (power supply). Espessially if the device have some kind of memmory.
By what you write, you use the device without batteries, only powered by the charger? And I asume that by now you also have removed the power and left it out for a some time?
Have you tried with different cartridges?
There is no way to reset to factory defaults. But in any case, there is apparently a way to repair the firmware or even reset the LE. First, open up Leapfrog Connect and get into the LE area of the software. Connect your Explorer and wait for it to do all it's updates and things. Then click on settings in the upper right hand corner where you will have the option to repair or reset your explorer. Try the repair option first and see if that works.
But besides easy to try fixes like this, there is not much you can du by your selv on devices like this. I would also recomend contacting [email protected]Hi. If the unit is frozen the first thing I would recommend is removing the batteries and see if its ok when you reinsert them.
We use a charger to charge the leapster.................
